Fiery, but Mostly Peaceful Sara

President Trump is no stranger to threats on his life from radical Leftists and their “useful idiots,” holding the seat as the number 1 target of death threats (With Don Jr ranking number 2)¹. There are sick public figures even making disturbing jokes about his demise² constantly. Numerous accounts of violence incited on President Trump are growing, as well as the handful of documented assassination attempts stopped by the Secret Service, the most recent being this past weekend by a Trump hating Canadian. Threats aside, here is my breakdown of the assassination attempts on our current POTUS.

June 2016: British National with a history of mental illness, Michael Steven Sandford³ tried to acquire a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department⁴ officer’s handgun at a Trump rally in Las Vegas, in an attempt to assassinate then Republican Presidential Candidate Trump.

• Sandford had been planning the assassination for over a year. Unfortunately for him, the pistol got caught in the holster, and naturally, he was immediately arrested. For so much planning going into it, the ultimate failure was shown when he was subsequently deported back to the United Kingdom.
• Though he was attempting to murder our president, the incident received less coverage in the US than in the UK. In fact, the attempt led to becoming the subject of a BBC documentary.

• November 2017: A radicalist affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant⁵ was arrested by the Philippine National Police⁶ in Rizal Park for his plans to assassinate President Trump.
  • “There is credible information that an incident could occur during ASEAN,” said Special Agent Gibson,⁷ lead for the Secret Service’s personnel brief in Manila. Pointing to a map of ISIS and ISIS-affiliated threats, she added, “As of this week, the Philippines has escalated to a critical threat level.” Just days before the president’s visit, ISIS issued a series of threats—via video—that featured a picture of the president rittled with bullets, and a message urging jihadists to “lie in wait” and “ambush” POTUS in the Philippines.
  • President Trump was meant to arrive in Manila to meet with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and other South Asian leaders at the ASEAN 50 summit⁸.

• October 2018: William Clyde Allen III⁹, a 39-year old U.S. Navy veteran from Logan, UT, sent a letter containing crushed castor beans to President Trump. The letter was seized by the Secret Service before reaching the White House. He sent additional ricin¹³ laced letters to Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Chief of Naval Operations¹⁰ Adm. John Richardson. Allen was arrested in Utah on October 3, 2018. Federal grand jury in Salt Lake City returned a seven-count indictment charging William Clyde Allen, III in connection with ricin-related threats.  The indictment alleges he knowingly threatened to use a biological agent and toxin, specifically ricin, as a weapon. 
  • “Because no antidote exists for ricin, the most important factor is avoiding ricin exposure in the first place,” the CDC says. “If exposure cannot be avoided, the most important factor is then getting the ricin off or out of the body as quickly as possible.”

• August 10, 2020: Shots were heard on air near the White House, during Donald Trump’s news briefing.¹¹ The president was quietly whisked away from the podium, and the White House was expertly put under lockdown, for around 10 to 15 minutes, until the situation was under control.
  • President Trump was astonishingly calm throughout the ordeal¹², scoffing at the media afterwards for asking if he was shaken up by the event:
    Speaker 3: “Are you rattled by this at all, Mr. President?”
    President Trump: “I don’t know. Do I seem rattled? It’s unfortunate that this is a world, but the world’s always been a dangerous place. It’s not something that’s unique. The world has been … You look back over the centuries. The world has been a dangerous place, very dangerous place, and it will continue, I guess, for a period of time.”
  • It was unclear whether or not this was a true assassination attempt, but the Secret Service arrested the gunman and he was placed into their custody.

• September 19, 2020: Letters containing ricin¹³, a lethal poison, were sent by to the White House, addressed to President Trump. The letters were intercepted before they were received.
  • Former United States resident, Pascale Ferrier of Quebec, Canada¹⁴. She was apprehended by US Customs and Border Protection agents at the Peace Bridge border crossing near Buffalo, New York.
  • The CDC believed the attempted assassination was an intentional act.”It would take a deliberate act to make ricin and use it to poison people,” the CDC says. “Unintentional exposure to ricin is highly unlikely, except through the ingestion of castor beans.”

President Trump faces so much hate from the far Left and their Marxist and Liberal followers¹⁵ on a daily basis. I couldn’t imagine the amount of threats the Secret Service has to deal with under this administration.
