As we ring in the new year, it’s important to note, as the school districts across the country are, yet again, imposing mask mandates on their students, that there are a plethora of reasons people hold against mask mandates, many have absolutely nothing to do with one of the most immovable justification– the desire to protect one’s God-given right to Liberty (that Leftists mock).

This article’s contents don’t delve into my position that it is unconstitutional to force masks upon people either (though I do believe it’s unconstitutional). This article is meant to bring attention to and break down the rational reasons, outside of laws and science, explaining how mask mandates negatively affect many people in their everyday lives.

I have written other articles regarding the scientific evidence of mask effectiveness; however, this article, in particular, is not meant to show whether or not masks are effective.

Mask Mandates Hurt Childhood Development

Any situation in which infants rely on another person’s cognitive and/or emotional appraisal to form their own understanding of a situation qualifies as social referencing. The information can be actively solicited, casually observed, or actively imparted by another person, and referencing can be affective (whether to feel positively or negatively about a situation), instrumental (how to behave in or cope with a situation), or both.

Saul Feinman, Social Referencing and the Social Construction of Reality in Infancy [1992]

First, let’s discuss the negative unintended consequences mass mask-wearing has on the crucial development of babies and small children.

Smiles and other visual cues are exceptionally vital to healthy cognitive and emotional childhood development.

My son was born legally blind, and he didnt start speaking until he got glasses because he couldnt WATCH OUR MOUTHS to LEARN how to mimic the letters. Mask wearing (as people have even been told to do so inside the home in some places) is detrimental to the growth of an infant or small child.

Aside from the developmental difficulties of learning how to speak, people tend to overlook the fact that SMILES ARE SO IMPORTANT. Smiles are especially important for the proper development of infants, babies, and small children. Smiles are a crucial nonverbal form of communication, are marvelously contagious, and release chemicals, such as dopamine and serotonin, that boost happiness levels and neuropeptides, that boost neuro-communication.

Could you imagine being a child in a school with mask mandates, going ALL DAY without seeing a smile?! I’ve spent the entire day smiling at everyone I came across since I was a child, and it would have been extremely disheartening to me to have smiles taken away, even more so than it did as an adult.

They receive no rewarding gleam of approval from their teacher when finishing an assignment or test early. There’s no beaming smile from the art teacher for creating beautiful artwork (that is-if art is even allowed in school during COVID-19). Not sharing a grin with classmates when there’s a hilarious occurrence during class. An utter lack of glowing, smiling faces all over while playing on the playground or basketball court. Being unable to flash a sheepish smile to a crush from across the hallway.

Living life lacking connections solely based on joyfulness that is more capable of being infectiously transmitted around the school grounds than COVID-19 could dream of being. There are tons of adorably goofy moments snatched away from children, like being unable to make silly faces at friends while the teacher’s back is turned. Much less disruptively, a child would not be able to silently mouth at the teacher an urgent hankering to use the restroom during a test.

Mask Mandates are Cruel to People Who are Hard of Hearing

Another thing I realized is that people rarely seem concerned about those who are hard of hearing when mask mandates are being considered.

Personally, I’m not hard of hearing per se, but I do require subtitles if I desire comprehension of the news or a movie that I’m watching. I also consistently watch people’s mouths to read their lips while they speak because I just can’t hear well enough alone without reading lips at the same time. I suppose hearing is a multi-sense, team effort for me.

Nowadays, I am constantly asking people to repeat themselves, which causes me to have anxiety build up inside of me (I know my anxiety is not logical, but it’s there), and sometimes I will just give up and act like I heard them because it becomes embarrassing to repeatedly ask what they said after each statement they make.

Masks can inconveniently cause people who are hard of hearing to miss valuable information because they are completely UNAWARE that anyone is speaking to them when they CAN’T SEE YOUR MOUTH VISIBLY MOVING.

This happens to me more often than I care to admit. I’ve experienced at least a handful of times when I happened to glance away from my cashier, so I did not hear her muffled voice come out of her mask-covered mouth until she got snarky with me, giving me a less-than-desirable attitude simply because I couldn’t tell her mouth was actually moving.

Mask mandates do a huge disservice to people who are hard of hearing. I couldn’t imagine how miserably challenging being full-on deaf must be during times like these.

Mask Mandates Can Cause Unnecessary Conflict

Another reason to be against mask mandates is their ability to cause terrible, even dangerous, misunderstandings between already clashing groups of people. Think about the racial tension the Left is attempting to grow into a disastrous issue in America. When I come across someone of a different race than myself and smile at them like I do to everyone, my smile could easily be misconstrued that I was grimacing or glaring in their direction!

I try my best not to be pessimistic, but I can’t help that most people wearing masks appear to me as though they’re glaring and grimacing. Obviously, they are unable to see my mouth like I am theirs, they are basically only able to see my eyes squinting. Wouldn’t you want it to be crystal clear to other people to be able to discern from a glance that you aren’t looking at them with contempt, possibly for their race? I literally am all smiles everywhere I go, but now I can’t even tell if they smile back, so how can they?

Mask Mandates Provide Criminals with a Disguise

When the BLM/Antifa riots of 2020, or as a certain Democrat Governor put it, “the summer of love,” erupted across America, mask mandates created the perfect cover for criminals, often in the form of looters, arsonists, and dangerous people looking to assault others, and wearing the masks was even encouraged by the government.

Mask mandates provided cover for these criminals, not only during riots, but in lawless Democrat-run cities period, where theft has become rampant. Crime has skyrocketed in cities across the country, becoming prevalent in cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Minneanapolis, and Chicago. Robbers and looters are frequently unidentifiable because they are always donning a disguise welcomed by their government.

Mask mandates undoubtedly make it exponentially easier for criminals to commit robberies, carjacking, and the numerous heinous acts of violence, we’ve seen in the past couple of years, resulting in the victims’ inability to identify their attackers to bring them to justice.

Mask Mandates Prevent Silent Cues for People in Danger

Likely the most important reason is the added hardships on a child who is kidnapped. If they have a mask on, they cannot plead silently for help from a stranger. They cannot mouth words like “HELP ME” when they happen to see someone that may be able to save them. If you come across a child in danger, you are unable to give them silent reassurance that you are aware of what is going on and give them the hope they so desperately need. You cannot mouth to the terrified child that you’re going to help them. Silent communication of all forms, without the ability to read or speak in sign language from both the kidnapped child and the person attempting to save them, is nonexistent and much more dangerous when our mouths are covered.

The Ultimate Damage Done by Mask Mandates

It seems like there are endless detrimental downsides of mask mandates and consistent universal mask-wearing that even ardent mask believers can’t deny exist, and if they try to deny them all then they are being dishonest. Mask-wearing shouldn’t have to directly affect your life drastically for you to be aware of the impact never-ending mask-wearing has on so many people, forcing other people’s lives to be exceedingly difficult in order for you to feel a tiny bit safer, though irrationally, as their use is not supported by science.

Combine the reasons stated in this article, with the scientific evidence shown across numerous studies in medical journals (published during mostly pre-pandemic/pre-controversial times) proving masks are not effective against something as tiny as a virus, with the fact that masks are effective when it comes to trapping bacteria and fungi on the inside of the mask, and it becomes entirely apparent that constant mask-wearing does more harm than good from every angle you look at it.

The longer mask-mandates are drawn out, the longer people from all walks of life endure undue suffering, both short-term and long-term.

People who are hard of hearing won’t necessarily be damaged in the long run but they will struggle throughout the years of mask mandating, potentially causing severe depression from living in a world where they have lost the ability to communicate with their fellow man. Many likely are saddened by clerks, secretaries, and coworkers who seem constantly frustrated with them not being able to ever hear what they are saying. Deaf people who are alone in the world may find it increasingly difficult to remember why such a lonely life, unable to have conversations with anyone around them, is worth living.

Children who are subject to years of schooling with their teachers and peers always masked will take many times that amount of time to undo the damage done from being thrust into an environment that prevents them from achieving their full potential.

Those who were infants and toddlers during the mask mandates will be developmentally stunted because of the vital years meant for learning facial expressions and nonverbal, visual cues being stripped away from them for the sake of a virus about as deadly to most folks as influenza, while the babies and toddlers were virtually immune to getting severely ill or dying from it, yet still were forced to suffer for the sake of those able to speak up for themselves.

This is a civil war between Communism and America. There is no more Democrat vs Republican right now. America needs to be united in the party of Patriots who believe in our constitution and the inherent right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The radical Left has thrown their hail Mary, and we need to get our heads in the game and intercept that pass before it’s too late. Whether or not you believe Orange Man Bad, The Republicans who followed President Donald J Trump are the only hope for remaining a constitutional republic.

NEVER FORGET: They are Rights enumerated to remind us and our government of our innate and indisputable liberties that are granted to us by our Creator, not our government; NEVER to be infringed or impinged upon by elected officials nor bureaucratic narcissists, ALWAYS as protection for We The People from tyranny and despotism at even the highest level of our hierarchical structure.
