As the state slowly loses its more conservative residents in a trickle, like a leaky faucet, it becomes less likely for there to be enough voters make changes to the Democrat dominated California. This started prepandemic, but has increased because of the draconian lockdown measures Governor Newsom has imposed on us. Similarly to what you are seeing across the country, the Democrat ran cities and states are in a cultural and economical decline.
Places like Los Angeles and San Francisco it is commonplace to see human feces on the streets and sidewalks, causing San Francisco to be dubbed the Street Poop Capital of America. If you’re especially unlucky you may end up actually witnessing a vagrant defecating in public. If you don’t happen to see that, you may be equally unfortunate and catch a glimpse of someone injecting heroin or smoking crack. In once great cities like these, the possibilities are endless.
Project Room Key is a program throughout the state of California to house homeless people in hotels and motels that began because of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Heaven forbid the lockdown has you barely able to keep your home, you will have some peace of mind knowing your city is housing homeless for no cost in commandeered hotels, with 24/7 security for their safety, and some are even provided alcohol and/or drugs and tobacco products. No guests are allowed on site, but they are trusted to adhere to CA’s social distancing guidelines when out on “essential” errands. They are also provided three meals a day. Seems like a pretty sweet deal. I know if I was a homeless drug addict, I would think the government was made up of suckers, and hop on that bandwagon in a heartbeat.
Then you also have the release of thousands of prisoners “because of COVID-19” which ends up adding to the homeless population. The release of prisoners has gone up from the originally stated goal of 8,000. It has become a planned release over time, that will result in a total of nearly 18,000 prisoners, including violent criminals. Victims of these convicted criminals are righteously concerned over the release of their perpetrators being released from prison, and probation officers are as well. There is a reason these people (some just plain monsters) were sentenced to the amount of time they were.
Criminals that have been and will be released are convicted of crimes such as:
- Terebea Williams, 44, who served 19 years of an 84 years-to-life sentence for first-degree murder, carjacking and kidnapping. She was freed after being deemed at high medical risk for the virus.
- In late July, the state also freed Santiago Cruz, 65, who was serving a 125-year sentence on his conviction after Cruz repeatedly harassed his ex-wife, stalked her boyfriend and tossed a Molotov cocktail at their home as they slept, Yolo county Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney Melinda Aiello said. He also phoned the 18-year-old daughter of the new boyfriend and “threatened to rape her while her father watched, kill her and then kill her father,” said Aiello.
- Christopher Scull, who tested positive for the virus in June but had minor symptoms, was released from San Quentin in mid-July after serving 22 years for carjacking and robbery.
Nationwide, between March and June, there have been over 100,000 inmates released early due to coronavirus, and over 10,000 in the state of California. There has been a huge uptick in crime throughout the country, and to me it is extremely apparent as to why. Many of these prisoners have gotten out just to commit more crimes, however because of California’s Zero-Bail, they are let right back out into the population. If they’re lucky enough to be somewhere like Portland, OR or St Louis, MO they’ll even have District Attorneys like Michael Schmidt that do not even prosecute crimes that aren’t felonious. In California there has been more than one criminal let out on bail reform just to commit another more egregious crimes. I recall one man who robbed a bank, let go, robbed another bank, let go, and this continued two more times.
The far Left would have you believing that the rioting in the cities across America is either not happening or that it is Trump supporters and white supremacists, though it is really BLM, Antifa, and whomever else joins. They are indoctrinating students to be Anti-American. It’s no wonder there are so many people out rioting that are okay with going out and destroying people’s property, burning down their livelihoods, and inflicting fear on the residents of whatever city they’re in. The radical Left needs these criminals causing chaos and race riots. They’re not trying to stop racism, but spread it in the name of anti-racism.
Add that to the insane new laws being passed, and California is completely out of control, as are most Democrat ran cities and states, but the entire state of California has gone topsy-turvy. Who is going to want to live in a state that is trying to normalize pedophilia? Recently passed SB-145, is a bill that would allow pedophiles to not be registered on the sex offender list as long as they are not 10 years older than the minor they were convicted of molesting. Meaning if an 18 year old rapes an 8 year old, they will not have to register as a sex offender. Introduced by Sen. Scott Weiner, this bill drastically relaxes sex offender registry requirements for sodomy and other acts with minors to reportedly end “discrimination against LGBTQ young people on the sex offender registry,” according to Weiner. I find this to be absolutely revolting, and an insult to the people I know in the LGBTQ community, implying being LGBTQ means you are attracted to children.
Then you also have the recent bill that ends the anti-discrimination laws in California that passed vote, apparently to end racism? This literally makes it so you CAN discriminate based on gender, race, and nationality. That does not coincide with my values, and is not the type of state I want to live in.
My family is just one more conservative family of those leaving the state in droves. The safety and well-being of my children come before my love of my home state and the friends and family in it. Folks who stay have tried to convince me that we need to stay and fight to make California red. I’m sorry, but California just isn’t worth enough to me to stay. I can’t get out of the state fast enough. It is not my obligation to fix a state that is so far gone. It is, however, my obligation as a mother to ensure my children’s happiness and security. Frankly, it isn’t worth residing in the most expensive state in the continental United States if you can’t enjoy living in it.
If you are a Californian, whether you plan on staying or leaving, please visit the Recall Gavin Newsom page to find a location near you to sign the recall. You must be a registered voter in the state of California, and you must write the address you are registered to vote at. You can also print your own recall sheet, to gather signatures yourself or simply for you and your family, and send it in yourself.
