It’s My Birthday, And I’ll Write If I Want To.

Self-Induced Media Blackout

Hey, y’all, did you miss me? I’m back! I took a BACatiON aaaannnddd it was just my birthday! I have taken some much-needed time away from media/social media, and I am back and ready to write. I know nothing that has happened in the past two weeks. I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

I haven’t dyed my hair in a while. It is not very pink.

I’ve been MIA, and I apologize if you have tried to get ahold of me during my self-imposed media blackout. I have quite enjoyed being completely ignorant of all of our nation’s many great crises of the day, unaware of all of the drama being induced by the woke outrage mob, and completely void of all of the discussions attempting to seek rationality in a changed world full of poor souls with mislead mentalities solidified in illogical realities.

Lots of Family Time

I decided to take a couple of weeks offline while my little Asian grandma and my dad’s side were in town. I got to see my dad’s brothers (and their wives), and my favorite aunt who I only get to see once in a Blue Moon wants Mary to go stay with her sometime (which would be sooo fun).

These past couple of weeks have been a precious and fabulous time spent with them, ending in my amazing birthday dinner with people I love. What more could I ask for?

I am so blessed. This amazing group of people was only lacking my sweet grandpa. My heart has been aching often from pangs of grief from missing my grandpas. Sometimes it feels unreal that they are both gone, but I think about them every single day.

Happy Birthday to Me

My mom is so sweet and kind; she always asks people at the house what they want for their birthday dinner, and she appreciates a challenge. She treated me with my personal all-time favorite dessert– lemon meringue cheesecake. While chatting as she made the meringue, I discovered that she can make homemade marshmallows! We are so having a s’mores night!

For dinner, she made a beautiful feast that smelled so good that we forgot to take pictures of it. Tonight she specially made homemade traditional bánh mi (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwiches), with fresh oven-baked baguettes, home pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, bean sprouts, and the works… and it was incredibly delicious. My mom is simply extraordinary, and exceptionally gifted at making creative dishes from all around the globe.

It’s been a nice thing–refreshing, having family around like this. My other uncle and aunt were in town, but left early to visit other family in the South. I feel truly blessed to have such amazing people in my family. God bless America.

God Gained an Angel

Lynn Firmin left this world to be with God on August 25th, 2021 at 2:05 pm after battling glioblastoma, a severe brain cancer. She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Grady, her daughter, Kat, and son, Charles. A wife, a mother, a teacher, a musician, and a special kind of warrior with the most playful, biggest heart. She will be missed by many.

Sadly, our neighbor, who was suffering from brain tumors, departed this world to be with God yesterday. My heart breaks for her husband who loved her with every inch of his being.

My daughter bonded with her instantly and took it especially tough. Mary used to go knock on their door and ask if Lynn felt like going on a walk, and Mare would go on long walks with Lynn, Grady, and their giant, fluffy German Shepherd Gabby. They all enjoyed that so much, they really adored my girlie.

One day, my mom mentioned to Lynn and Grady that Mary is autistic, and Lynn interrupted with, “well, yeah…! We knew that since the day we met her!” They sure had a way with her.

I knew Lynn was another empath the moment I saw how my dog, Sir Charles Barkley, reacted to her. Charlie adored her from the second he saw her, which I wrote about to explain agoraphobia a few months ago. I was struggling to keep ahold of him as he sporadically lunged excitedly and tried to jump on guests at our cul-de-sac party, and she walked up calmly and greeted him sweetly. My goofball yellow lab instantly took to her, settled down, sat, and anxiously awaited her petting and love. His demeanor completely morphed into a docile pup with manners.

If I didn’t know upon meeting her, I knew then, she was one of that rare kind of person who only had goodness in her heart.

My heart breaks for her wonderful husband who loved her with every inch of his being. They were so adorable together, and I rather enjoyed watching that tough old Texan veteran tenderly assist her with things and keeping her smiling and laughing. So, now as a cul-de-sac, it’s up to us to extend a tender hand, warm heart, and help him make new memories filled with laughter to keep him smiling.

So, please, I ask if you believe in God, could you say a prayer for beautiful and truly special Lynn, who is now with Him; pray for healing for her doting husband, who never stopped being her rock until her last breath, and her grown children who clearly adored their mother.

Ending on a Lighter Note

Oh, and to lighten the mood, here’s a fun vehicle we were waiting behind at In’N’Out the other day. My dad and I got a kick out of it.

Time for me to hit the hay so I can start catching up with what’s going on in our nation bright and early tomorrow. I appreciate each and every one of y’all that sends me messages or tags me in posts to show your appreciation for the pieces I write and the research I do. It makes this so worthwhile, knowing that it makes a difference, no matter how small.

Thank you for your kind words giving me those little boosts of drive on my crusade to spread the truth. God bless all y’all and God bless the United States of America.
