In Democrat governed states, there have been what they consider to be improvements on the standards of cash bail. They have become extremely lax in what what charges they will directly release people for. Fortunately for BLM domestic terrorists, when arrested for looting, rioting, and arson, Antifa/BLM terrorists go through the revolving door of bail reform. Cities quickly becoming decrepit, like Portland where District Attorney Mike Schmidt, doesn’t actually charge the rioters with anything at all, and simply cuts them loose. For DA Schmidt to prosecute, you practically would need to kill someone.
These Democrat Mayors like Bill de Blasio say such ridiculous statements about things like being so proud that there are “fewer people in our jails than any time since WWII, and we are SAFER for it and BETTER for it.” He says this as his city is heading toawards being the next Chicago or Baltimore. Last time I checked, violent crime is up over 340% and shootings shot up over 170%! NYC suffering under Bill de Blasio, but he doesn’t care about his constituents. He cares about pandering to the terrorists and is powered by his hunger for power over the hardworking men and women of our country.
In July, the New York Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, said “a world without police looks like the suburbs.” When she decided her two cents were needed on the subject, she blamed the rise in violent crime on the president’s handling of the pandemic saying, “maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren’t paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent,” Ocasio-Cortez continued, “So they go out and they need to feed their child and they don’t have money so … they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry.”
It is difficult to imagine she truly believe the absurdities she spouts. Shoplifting is not a violent crime; it is not a shooting. Unfortunately, there have been more than who committed egregious crimes upon their abrupt release due to COVID-19. At one point over 90% of arrestees were released by the time they were booked. If that wasn’t bad enough, Governor Newsom increased the estimated total of releases from the 10,400 California had released up to 17,600. However, prison officials say Corrections Secretary Ralph Diaz is likely to block around 5,500 because many are serving life sentences. The fact that people serving life sentences have actually been considered for early release due to COVID-19 is mind-blowing to say the least.
Between bail reform and the early release of prisoners due to COVID-19 there are thousands of criminals roaming the streets of Democrat states. There was one man who robbed four banks, released on bail reform after being arrested because he robbed the banks with notes instead of a weapon, and was let right out again because of bail reform, only to rob a fifth bank!! A man in New York was released after murdering a person because bail reform allowed people convicted of second degree murder to go free. Three men charged with attempted murder, some multiple time felons, were released on $500 bail in Detroit. In Houston, as of August since 2018, there have been 42 reported cases of people being released on bail reform only to be rearrested on murder charges.
As early as June 12th in New York, they had rearrested over 250 early released inmates for COVID-19 be rearrested out of the 2,500 that had been released as of that date. Some were rearrested four or five times since being released this year for COVID-19 because they’d get out right away on bail-reform.
There is absolutely no incentive to not be arrested if you don’t go to jail as a result of your crimes. Bail reform eliminates the need for cash bail for atrocious crimes like sexual predator attacks, arson, stalking, and even some HOMICIDE charges! In July, the bill in New York was amended to include charges like child trafficking, felony assault, vehicular assault, and failing to register as a sex offender; which begs the question of how those were ever chosen to be zero bail offenses.
There were many people that were disappointed in the decision to add the new list of crimes to the original bill. “Granting judges dangerousness would be the worst possible scenario. But rolling back reform at all during a time like this is really just unconscionable, given that any rollbacks to bail reform will mean more people being held pre-trial,” Clarise McCants, a campaign director at Color of Change, a racial justice organization, told City and State New York.
The elimination of cash bail literally means they may get a ticket notice to appear in court, and then are let out to finish off their crime or create more havoc somewhere else. Needless to say, not everyone who benefits is taking advantage or committing heinous crimes. That isnt the point though. I can compromise with bail reform to a certain extent, but when they advertise it as being solely for nonviolent misdemeanors, they are lying!
It is meant to prohibit judges from taking into account the ‘public safety’ risk of releasing a defendant. That is insane. If someone is hellbent on killing someone, and gets arrested for stalking, they get out the same day so they can go right back to it even if their intentions have been made clear.
States like New York, California, and New Jersey have let tens of thousands for incarcerated individuals just THIS YEAR out of prisons and jails; released as THEIR safety precautions so they dont get COVID-19. No matter the risk they are to society, their chances of catching COVID-19 is more valuable to these Democrat leaders than your safety. Shockingly, a couple of months ago, Washington state supreme court barely ruled against letting out EVERY prisoner that was over 50 years old or had diabetes or asthma. That included a serial child rapist/torturer/murderer who had admitted to over 100 girls.
I found it very suspicious that they chose to enact bail-reform at the start of this year; releasing tens of thousands before coronavirus, tens of thousands more directly before deciding to defund or abolish police, and tens of thousands DURING mass rioting while the Democratic Socialists/BLM Marxist revolution takes hold of our country!
I am unable to comprehend how Liberals and the radical Left can justify supporting these people and these actions?? How is their hate for Trump trumping their love for their fellow Americans? America is burning, and they are fanning the flames. Mayors like Wheeler, (Portland), de Blasio (NYC), Lightfoot (Chicago), and Garcetti (LA) act disgusted with the federal government for sending help, for not helping, and even for requesting permission to help. It is mindboggling. These people need to be forced to walk around without their private tax paid security detail, at night in their cities they are so proud of destroying, and see if they have the same attitude.
I want to believe that it is all a coincidence, but I just can’t help but wonder how what possible reasons (other than irrational COVID-19 fears) these governors and mayors decided to set tens of thousands of prisoners free. The bail reforms were set to activate at the start of the year. COVID-19 hits, and thousands upon thousands of convicts were let out of the jails and prisons across America. The civil unrest is sparked and fueled by the Left and their Mainstream Media causing every crime by a white person against a black person to be portrayed as a malicious, racist hate crime; no matter the circumstances and before additional evidence is shared with the public.
The radical former Democratic, now Communist Party (I am going to call them what they are) is destroying America, and plaguing their states with criminals that are let out just to continue terrorizing the community, while fanning the flames of racial unrest and mass rioting.
